Volunteering at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center— Fresno, CA

  • Worked at front desk answering phone calls as well as finding and directing patients to their appointments

  • Delivered lab samples from various departments throughout the hospital

  • Wheeled handicap patients from the parking lot to their appointment in wheelchairs and visa-versa


EMT Training— Fresno, CA

  • Managed an academic course and the vigorous EMT course simultaneously

  • Passed the NREMT on first attempt

Physician Shadowing— Fresno, CA

  • Shadowed physicians in trauma bay during the night shift from 2300 to 700 in Level 1 trauma center, CRMC

  • CRMC is the only Level 1 trauma center between Sacramento and Los Angeles

CERT Certification— Fresno, CA

  • Trained by firefighters and other first responders in basic emergency medicine techniques

  • Educated on distaster/hazard preparadness, team organization, and medical response

Disaster Simulation— Fresno, CA

  • School wide disaster simulation performed with moulaged actors

  • Served as solo lead for extraction subteam

  • Extracted and triaged all patients in timed scenario in complete darkness using only materials on hand to simulate a disaster scenario

Center for Advanced Research and Technology Biomedicine 2 Year Program— Fresno, CA

  • Biomedicine program to take courses such as organic chemistry, neuroscience, and anatomy/physiology, and Advanced Topics in Medicine courses

  • Attended UCSF Mini-Med School seminars to learn about current research in the field
